As the first several weeks of art classes meld into the next phase I am amazed to look back and see how they've grown to almost full rosters necessitating moves into bigger class rooms. I can't be more pleased! I teach portrait painting at both the Visual Art Center in Punta Gorda and North Port Art Center. I also teach a drawing class at North Port. The comments I receive the most are about the amount of constructive instruction I give. Each class is nonstop learning and creating from beginning to end. I enjoy presenting material in new and interesting ways. Lastly, I absolutely love my students who consist of adults who are retired or nearing retirement and have the time and desire to explore their artistic urges. What I appreciate is their abundance of personal histories and interesting backgrounds which they bring to the classroom and their art. As these classes push forward I invite any artists in waiting to join one of my lively groups.
