As I’m encouraging art students of all levels to sign up for my portrait classes, I'd like to clear the air! Dispel the myth! Conquer the fear! When it comes to art and faces, put aside the, "I can't, I'm not that good, I don't do people." As an artist, I've been blessed with ample technical skills. However I have to fight for every ounce of creativity, something which can hardly be taught. When I work with a student who has been blessed with innate creativity, it's a matter of presenting, explaining and demonstrating underlying fundamentals, for their artwork to flourish. Be them. Skills can be taught, honed and refined. Creativity is the gift.
